YEAR 2 - NUMBER 15 - July 2007

The Executive lunch this month was awesome!!! - by Wal Rosa

"How to succeed in Business”

Every month the members of CFBACC and their gests have had better and better opportunities to receive information to improve business and being more profitable and productive in their activities attending the Executive Lunch events.

On June 13 we had the presentation of Mr. Malik Ali, president of the Florida Minority Supplier Development Council and former Director of Disney World for many years.

He is not only well informed and powerful business person but he is a very dynamic speaker. When he finished his presentation because of the scheduled time, everybody in the audience was wanting more and more. We did not keep track of time. He touched on subjects such as the difference between a business and an enterprise and how to turn your business in an enterprise. We could not stop taking notes.

He made an interactive presentation with the audience participating working in groups. Be aware of the new Executive Lunch schedule and make sure you make yourself and your business partners present. If you don’t have your own business yet, make sure you have the chance to know how to start it the best way learning from the successful speakers that we always have there.

Business card Exchange
at Pirates Dinner Adventures

Over 200 Brazilians, Hispanics and Americans attended our June happy hour held at the Pirates Dinner Adventures, proving that the Brazilian and Hispanic Chambers' joint events are a blast with our community. We want to thank Mr. William de la Torre, the board at the Pirate's Adventure and our sponsors who helped make this event a huge success by providing the venue, food, drinks and entertainment for all.

During dinner there was a lucky draw with great prizes: tickets for the Pirates Dinner Adventure offered by the house, tickets for the Cirque du Soleil offered by Chang Express, and four tickets for the Nascar race on July 6th and 7th offered by the Nossa Gente Newspaper, Excell Cellular, Daytona International Speedway and ACV Tours and Travel, as part of the Pepsi 400 Nascar promotion for the Brazilian and Hispanic markets.
The night was a big hit!

1 Billion Dollars Opportunity
for Local Businesses now! - by Wal Rosa

Cylon Rodrigues, Volnei Rodrigues, Mayor Buddy Dyer and Wal Rosa

For the first time the small business and Minority Business have the opportunity to participate and benefit from a huge project like this one.
Leaded by Orlando Mayor, Mr. Buddy Dyer on June 21st, at the Citrus Bowl Club in Orlando, the most important representatives of the Government and Private Industry meet with the small business owners to invite them to be the only participants of a Billion dollar project construction in Orange County.

The project will be voted on July 26. If approved, it will be 3 big new buildings to be built in 5 years work.

Amway Arena – Orlando Magic - More than triple size project.

New Citrus Bowl Stadium – To be Totally renewed

New and Modern Dr. Philips Art Center

There will be work for all kind of businesses from services to goods to be provided to these projects.

The County already knows that the cost will be more than 1 Billion dollars and they want it to be performed only for local businesses and they will help with all the aspects to make it possible. They want to provide since the training, legal support information, total “open table” to allow any business to be able to qualify to get their “slice of this big pie”.

You will be receiving e-mails and a new meeting will be scheduled in Spanish to give more information and another chance to the ones that could not come to this meeting. Call CFBACC to get information about this Business Community Forum.
